In fact, these pottery soils have undergone geological evolution and are rich in minerals and trace elements, with a natural texture that is delicate and pure in color.
Making five-color pottery requires multiple processes such as soil selection, clay preparation, throwing, and polishing. Craftsmen select high-quality clay based on their experience, and then crush, grind, precipitate, and filter it to make the clay as fine as cream; when throwing, their hands dance with the machine to shape various shapes; and the final polishing stage is the “final carving” that gives the object a soul.
Historically, five-color pottery is not only a practical tool, but also has profound cultural value. Yi Yin of the Shang Dynasty worked as a farmer in Youshen Field and made soup with five-color pottery.
