Among the highlights of the Global Entrepreneur Stage was the talk by Alexander Sapov, co-founder and CEO of GetTransfer.com, the leading mobility marketplace in Cyprus and one of the world’s fastest-growing platforms for passenger transport services. During his talk, Alexander shared the story behind GetTransfer.com. While traveling, the founders repeatedly faced the same problems: no clear pricing, no reliable rules, and little trust in passenger transport. “We realized the whole industry was broken,” he said. “To fix it, we needed a neutral marketplace with full visibility for both travelers and drivers.”
Founded in 2015, GetTransfer.com operates as a marketplace, connecting passengers and drivers without itself providing transportation services. Classified as an Information Society Service (ISS) under EU regulations, its role is to enable secure, transparent, and rule-based interactions between independent providers and customers.
Today, the platform covers 180 countries, offering access to transfers, long-distance trips, taxi rides, hourly chauffeur-driven rentals, and delivery services. Before booking, users can check vehicle ratings, hospitality scores, photos, and descriptions, ensuring transparency and safety. With competitive pricing, trusted drivers, and 24/7 support, GetTransfer.com has become synonymous with seamless, reliable travel experiences.
Alexander emphasized that trust has been the cornerstone of the company’s growth, shaping everything from product design to customer support. Unlike competitors focused solely on pricing, GetTransfer.com has developed fair rules protecting both travelers and drivers. A recent policy shift — including new booking and cancellation rules — has dramatically reduced cancellations and boosted repeat bookings, proving that reputation, not dumping, drives sustainable growth.
He also spoke about the company’s journey from a local startup to a global marketplace. The team first refined its model in a single city, then scaled step by step, integrating advanced technology such as API connections, automated pricing engines, and anti-fraud systems. This process fostered what Alexander calls “operators of reality, not slide makers.”
Cyprus itself was also in the spotlight during Inspire 2025. With its strategic location, safe environment, and English-speaking workforce, the country has the potential to become a bridge between Europe and the Middle East. Alexander highlighted that these advantages make Cyprus an ideal base for product development and operational teams, while stressing the need for policy support — from streamlined visa processes and stable taxation to stronger technical education programs.
He concluded by offering advice to entrepreneurs: “Clearly define the problem, identify who will pay for the solution, build the simplest effective version, and then scale. Don’t look for an idea — look for repeatable pain.”
